Our journey (so far)
The beginning of Contentoo. Jeroen Gunter knows a thing or two about brilliant content. In 2017, he brought together the best in tech and talent to form Contentoo.
In 2018, we received a €100K investment from angel investors. We turned this money into our next platform.
In 2019, Onno Halsema, former director of T-Mobile Thuis, and Ben, joined Contentoo as CEO and shareholder.
In 2021, we saw 156% growth in revenue and expanded into Germany. Our team jumped from 10 employees at the start of 2021 to 30 by the end of the year. A bigger team needs a bigger office, so we rolled our desk chairs over to the Houthavens in Amsterdam.
20,000 projects down 6,000,000 words written. 500 content creators. 200 translators and localization experts. To celebrate these achievements and 5 years of Contentoo we went on a company trip to Berlin!

My journey with Contentoo kicked off in December 2021, when I joined as an intern with the sales team. Following the internship, I stayed on as a working student, with my eyes set on a full-time sales role after my studies. In particular, I was excited about the amazing company culture and the awesome colleagues I got to work with. However, when it came to writing my thesis, I switched to the marketing team and unexpectedly fell in love with marketing and SEO. So, after two successful internships, my career plans took a turn. Fortunately, Contentoo opened the door for me and facilitated my step into the role of SEO Specialist, and I couldn’t be happier.
I get to work with enthusiastic customers who are eager to grow. Contentoo encourages me to think outside the box – we don’t have standard solutions, every client and their needs are different. Every day we encounter new challenges, and every day we celebrate new successes with the whole team. No day is the same, and I love that!
Working at Contentoo has been an incredible experience for me. Despite working remotely, I’ve always felt remarkably close to the team. The open communication channels and collaborative spirit make it feel like we’re all in the same office, even when miles apart.
